5. BlacKkKlansman (2018) - Corey Hawkins

Though he was only around five episodes during seasons six and seven, Corey Hawkins made quite an impression on The Walking Dead, so much so that the thought of Heath returning to the franchise in the upcoming Rick Grimes movies has caused quite a buzz in the fandom.

Having been out of the show since mid-2016, Hawkins has one of the most impressive CVs of the entire cast. He played Dr Dre in 2015's Straight Outta Compton, had a major role in Michael Bay's recent action flick 6 Underground (2019), and is set to play a lead role in Lin-Manuel Miranda's movie musical In the Heights.

His best role since leaving TWD, though, undoubtedly goes to his portrayal of Stokely Charmichael in Spike Lee's brilliant biographical dramedy, BlacKkKlansman. The film serves as a clever, rich, timely assessment of race in America, as an African-American cop (John David Washington) attempts to infiltrate the KKK in the 70s.

Hawkins isn't around for long, but owns the screen with a magnetic, passionate performance that perfectly predicts just how big a star he's still destined to become.
