8. Sweet Home
Adapted from the South Korean webtoon of the same name, Sweet Home follows suicidal loner loner Cha Hyun-soo, who moves into a new apartment complex shortly after his family dies in a tragic accident. Soon after he settles down, the entire complex comes under siege by mutated monsters. Hyun-soo and his new neighbours are forced to band together in order to survive hell on earth.
If you like games such as Resident Evil or Silent Hill, with their disgusting yet awe-inspiring monsters, Sweet Home will be right up your alley. The apocalyptic monster mash the characters have found themselves thrust into contain some nasty creations that feel as though they crawled right out of a nightmare.
Most impressively though is Hyun-soo's arc. The first episode finds him infected by the monstrous disease, forcing him to come to terms with his new identity along with his trauma, making for some genuinely tear-jerking moments.
Be forewarned, however, as Sweet Home does feature graphic depictions of suicidal ideation.
