10 Best Post-Apocalyptic TV Shows Of All Time

3. The Last Man On Earth

Typically, end of the world movies and television series are dramas of some sort, but the one genre they usually stay away from is comedy. Fortunately, there is one that stands as what is arguably the best comedy/post-apocalypse series ever made in The Last Man on Earth.

The series is centered around Will Forte's Phil Miller, who begins the show as the only person left alive in all of North America, and he knows this after traveling across the continent looking for other survivors. Phil tries to make it work, but loneliness and despair drive him to suicide.

Fortunately, he's saved at the last second when he notices a campfire in the distance, and from that point, the title is a bit misleading. Phil is joined by some of the strangest, funniest, and most heartwarming characters seen on television, and everything that can happen to the group, does happen to the group.

The Last Man on Earth ran from March 2015 to May 2018 on Fox, but it was unfortunately canceled after the fourth season came to a close. Of course, it ended on a cliffhanger, but Forte has spoken about what would have happened, so there's a little bit of closure for fans of the series.
