10 Best Star Trek Characters Only In One Episode

10. Norvo Tigan

Ezri Dax's brother is an interesting case of a character who would have been nice to see again. Introduced in the DS9 episode "Prodigal Daughter," Norvo is a talented but troubled artist who is very strongly hinted to be on the spectrum and also is struggling with mental health problems exacerbated by his family life.

He had a really good dynamic with Ezri and his desperate need to get away from home and see more of the universe was relatable. It's not hard to picture this guy showing up on the station occasionally. His presence would have given Ezri a broader existence on the series. This expectation is even set up somewhat in the episode and if it had been followed through he would have made for a nice addition.

Unlike other such characters who could have easily been brought back, Norvo has two big strikes against him. Being a final season character and being revealed as a murderer are both pretty hard things to get past.

The whole murder thing is what really makes him stick out. It's not every day that a central character's immediate family turns out to be the actual villain of the episode. It's like a bizarre what if of "Journey to Babel" in which Spock's dad really did murder that Tellarite.

All of that said, he remains a character who the audience wishes they could root for. He's both sympathetic and likable. In a world where DS9 had another season he would have fit in as a recurring character if he hadn't committed that terrible crime. But honestly, Garak has done worse so why not?

Early Ray Mixon hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
