10 Best Star Trek Fight Scenes

1. Kirk Vs. The Gorn - Arena

Star Trek Arena Gorn
Paramount

Was there ever a doubt as to what the top spot would be? This is the fight that is so legendary that it instantly became a part of pop culture history. The slow, lumbering moves of the Gorn captain were burned into the minds and imagination of the audience and, to be fair, in nearly sixty years, it hasn't yet faded.

The hissing. The grunts. The torn shirts. This fight has it all. There may be times when it looks like Kirk would rather hug than hound the poor stunt performer who was forced to don that suit, but for the ridiculousness of it all, it's one of the most beloved moments in the franchise's history.

Sure, the suit is rubber. Fine, those rocks are clearly styrofoam. But does any of that really matter? What makes a good Star Trek fight scene? It's memorable, it's fun, it's ludicrous, and it's forever burned into our hearts and minds. There have been two upgrades to the Gorn since this episode came out - one including an early CGI effort, and one that scares the living sh*t out of me still, but this is the OG. This is the Big Daddy.

This is the best fight in Star Trek.
