10 Best Superhero TV Shows Of 2018 (So Far)
6. Arrow
Arrow's sixth season turned out to be one of the most confusing outings of television this year, as the show provided us with both the best and worst that it had to offer in a small number of episodes. This rollercoaster began during its midseason premiere, when the writers pulled the trigger on Team Arrow's infuriating civil war storyline. This plot thread only led to forced conflict and contrived writing, as tenured characters repeated the mistakes of their past while newcomers began behaving erratically. And if that was all we got this year, then it might have been the worst superhero show this season.
But it somehow managed to stage one of the most incredible comebacks in television history. After a series of underwhelming and frustrating episodes, we immediately got a string of outstanding episodes. Abandoning the Team Arrow drama, the show stripped things back and focused on the deeper storylines. With Oliver's emotional torment, Black Siren's redemption and an up-close look at Ricardo Diaz's motivations, the latter half of the season delivered some of The CW's absolute best hours of television. It's just a shame that the season didn't start off with that high standard in the first place.
