10 Best TV Characters With No Name

3. The Workers (Squid Game)

Its Always Sunny Waitress
Netflix

The biggest hit show of recent years features many moments and ideas that have become instantly iconic, but its most enduring image is the sight of the workers at the games. The pink-clad faceless mercenaries remain the show’s greatest mystery, and without learning almost a single name, we’re given fascinating nuggets of information to simultaneously open them up and make them even weirder.

The contestants of the Games are some of society’s sorriest figures, taking one last shot at wealth and risking it all to do so, but the workers can hardly be in a better state. The circles, at the bottom of the heap, are tucked away in private chambers, constantly monitored, living in fear of their superiors.

The triangles, the soldiers, are tasked with committing hundreds of gruesome murders. And even the squares, the management, can be killed in an instant should they step out of line. But they’re no robots - we see that they have their own lives, side hustles, and even workplace friendships.

Squid Game really shouldn’t do another series, though it obviously will given the scale of its success. If they must dip back in, the most interesting focus would be the blankly terrifying men in pink.
