10 Best TV Shows About Football

7. Wayne Rooney's Street Striker

Wayne Rooney is the most successful English footballer the game has ever produced, winning every cup and competition there is to win and becoming the leading goal scorer for both Manchester United and the English national side over the course of his career.

The England forward was arguably at his peak between 2008 and 2010, and it was during this period that he helped launch the series Wayne Rooney's Street Striker on Sky One with Coke Zero. The show ran for three seasons, was shot in the inner city of Liverpool where Rooney grew up, and was a talent show designed to find the UK's best street footballer.

Each week the contestants on the show would have to compete in a series of challengers designed to put their silky street football skills to the test with a trip to football camps in Brazil and South Africa up for grabs for the winners.

Hilariously British and reeking of the late 2000s, it's the perfect show for any football fans out there to either take a trip down nostalgia lane or to really get to know what grassroots football looks like up in the north of England.
