10 Bizarre Star Trek Theories (That Might Be True)

6. Something Or Someone Hunted Down All Of The God-Like Aliens

Bear with us on this one. In Star Trek The Original Series, the galaxy appears to be littered with aliens who have God-like powers or who have evolved to being creatures of energy and thought. The Thasians that turned little Charlie Evans into the twisted young boy who can remove your face if you laugh at him. The Organians, who helped the Federation and the Klingons to come to a peace treaty simply by being advanced beings. The Metrons, who made Kirk duel to the death with a comically slow-moving Gorn. These are just a handful of them.

Move forward to Star Trek The Next Generation and we have only the Q Continuum and the solitary outing of Kevin Uxbridge (a Douwd). Plot devices like these all-powerful races became even less frequent in Deep Space Nine, Voyager, and Enterprise. So where did all of the others go? Did they have a large meeting and collectively decide that ships called Enterprise were too much trouble and to avoid all the others of that name?

Or did something else happen to them?

They could well have decided to leave this region of the Universe to the younger races that were growing in power (in a similar manner to the exodus of the First Ones in the acclaimed Babylon 5), or did something else happen to them? Something darker, more insidious. What if there was something out there that could hunt and kill them.

What if there's a malignant force out in the universe that even the Q Continuum might fear one day? Could be a considerable plot device.

Still bitter that Star Trek Enterprise got canned and almost old enough to angrily tell the kids to 'Get Off My Lawn!'
