10 Bizarre Star Trek Theories (That Might Be True)

7. The 'Humanoid Figure' Is Really Jonathan Archer From The Future

Suggested by just about everyone and their dog when it came to the Temporal Cold War of Star Trek Enterprise, this theory is a tad perplexing. In the opening episode of Enterprise (Broken Bow), we first meet the villainous Suliban Cabal, specifically Silik. Silik and his gang appear to be taking orders from a shadowy projection that's rewarding them with genetic enhancements.

When Captain Archer and his crew bravely storm the Suliban aggregate chain formation, Archer manages to catch a glimpse of this shadowy figure before rescuing the Klingon Klaang and completing their mission. Would this fleeting glimpse prove to be more than just a chance encounter or was it pre-destined?

The unknown character, credited simply as the 'Humanoid Figure' would go on to be the source of much speculation as the series went on and was never clarified as to who it was. So what if it was Archer himself? He spent some time in the far future, thanks to Crewman Daniels and the Suliban. Who's to say that maybe he wouldn't return there at some point in his future and feel the need to guide the events as he remembered them. He would essentially become his own antagonist in order to guide humanity's future.

Of course, there's any number of people who could be the Humanoid Figure, but it would be for the best if it was someone we know, wouldn't it?

Still bitter that Star Trek Enterprise got canned and almost old enough to angrily tell the kids to 'Get Off My Lawn!'
