10 Buffy The Vampire Slayer Episodes That Are Almost Perfect

The finale of Season 4 is such a fun episode. Rather than featuring an action-packed battle to the death – like the other season finales – the story explores the minds of Willow, Xander, Giles, and Buffy with four fascinating dream sequences.

All the dreams analyse the desires and fears of the main characters in a unique way, and every scene is crammed with meaning. But there’s one thing in this episode that’s totally unnecessary: the man with the cheese slices.

There’s no real substance to this character – he simply symbolises the random thing in every dream that has no meaning. Whilst this does make some sense, the Cheese Man feels like a gimmick compared with the rest of the episode. He’s nothing more than a meaningless distraction from the interesting things going on around him.

Thankfully, his brief appearances only last a couple of seconds, but this episode would have been perfect if he wasn’t in it.
