10 Celebrities You Didn't Realise Were On Columbo
1. George Wendt
In Cheers, the eponymous bar where everybody knows your name, George Wendt is better known as career drinker Norm (or Mr. Peterson if you're Woody). It's proven to be his defining role and a character he's reprised on Frasier, The Simpsons and Family Guy.
However, Wendt also appeared on one of the very last episodes of Columbo, Season 10's "Strange Bedfellows", starring as a thoroughbred ranch owner who, fed up of his brother's careless gambling, disposes of him and tries to make it look like the work of local mobsters.
Unfortunately, "Strange Bedfellows" is typically regarded as one of the worst episodes of Columbo. That's more down to the story and the writing than Wendt's performance and he even gets the honour of delivering this ill-tempered retort to Columbo's catchphrase: "no, Lieutenant, there is no, 'just one more thing'".
