10 Classic Doctor Who Monsters That Should Return

9. The Draconians

A noble and mighty set of beings, the Draconian Empire is deserving of a return despite their passing resemblance to the new Silurians. Another group to only appear in one story, 1973€™s Frontier in Space to be exact, they were the other side of the galactic Cold War against the Human Empire. By the 25th century, they had spread out from their home planet and dominated the Galaxy with their empire rivalled only by that of Earth. Both agreed to stay away from the other, with a buffer zone in between intended to keep the peace. That was nearly spoiled by the Master, who tried to heat up the situation by claiming each side had committed acts of war against the other. During the events of The Pandorica Opens, they were name checked as part of the Alliance that travelled to Stonehenge to help imprison the Eleventh Doctor in the Pandorica prison. That means they are certainly on the minds of the writers and present in the current universe so their re-introduction would make sense and could lead to a possible return of the Master, which would give us a true space opera. Given their technological advancements and huge territory in the cosmos it is hard to imagine they won't clash with Earth at some point. Interestingly in 2570 the planet Heaven was neutral ground between the Earth Empire and the Draconian Empire, now who€™s been mentioning somewhere called Heaven lately?
