For the most part, comic book animated television series do remarkably well and rarely see an early cancellation, but that can't be said for The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes!.

The series first premiered in 2010 on both Disney XD and Toonami online with a 20-part micro-series and it did rather well. Fans appreciated the new take on familiar characters including Iron Man, Giant Man, Hulk, Thor, Wasp, Captain America, Black Panther, and Hawkeye. Eventually, Ms. Marvel and Vision joined the roster.

Most of the stories were based on the original books by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, which gave the series a classic tone fans of old appreciated as much as newer viewers, which primarily consisted of children. Unfortunately, the show only lasted for two seasons of 52 episodes and saw an untimely cancellation in 2013.

The show wasn't picked up for a third season and was instead replaced by a new series, Avengers Assemble in 2013. While it was suggested that the series would seen an "epic conclusion" via the new show, few voice actors were carried over and the original production seems to remain dead in the water with little to no hope of a return.
