9. Phyllis Asks About Pam's Wedding Dress (Before Stealing It)
In season two's "Dwight's Speech," Pam (Jenna Fischer) is busy planning her wedding to Roy (David Denman), when Phyllis (Phyllis Smith) asks to see pictures of her wedding dress. What could possibly be more harmless, right?
Well, in the season three episode "Phyllis' Wedding," Phyllis gets married to Bob Vance, Vance Refrigeration (Bobby Ray Shafer).
As Phyllis walks down the aisle, Pam is left upset at how many elements of the wedding - from the invitations to her dress - were effectively ripped off from her own eventually cancelled wedding to Roy.
And the evidence was there for keen-eyed viewers an entire season earlier when Phyllis asked to see the pictures of the dress.
Phyllis is ultimately shown to be one of The Office's most quietly calculating characters, exploiting her warm, kindly exterior to execute Machiavellian schemes like this. Terrible.
