10 Cult TV Shows Taken Too Soon

5. Dark Skies

Dark Skies
NBC

One of a number of 90s sci fi shows looking to cash in on the success of The X-Files, Dark Skies was a show that suggested aliens had been with us since the 1940s and their aim was to manipulate historical events as the show used real life figures.

It was set during the 1960s allowing John F Kennedy, J Edgar Hoover and the Beatles to feature in the story as two government agents played by Eric Close and Megan Ward (ably assisted by the always excellent J.T. Walsh) tried to stop the alien plans from coming to fruition.

Despite the high production values and five season plan which would each have covered a new decade, poor ratings again cost this ambitious show the chance to see out its arc.

Marc Chadburn hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
