10 DC Characters That Need Their Own HBO Max Series

Jack Kirby is most known for helping create a science fiction book about a team of four explorers who find new life and try to conquer the impossible. No, I haven’t forgotten that this is a list of DC characters - this entry isn’t about the Fantastic 4. The team? The Challengers of the Unknown.

I know what you’re thinking - this team sounds like a rip off of Marvel’s first family; four survivors of an accident to do with an aircraft realise that they should go on interesting missions. However, the Challengers, if put in the right direction, could take inspiration from classic cartoons like Johnny Quest. With the show having to have an insane budget if it were live-action, DC would be able to have a show that would rival the likes of Doctor Who in terms of adventure alone.

A Challengers of the Unknown series could also fix the mistakes of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, as the Arrowverse show with an amazing concept has slowly become a slapstick comedy more than a new age space opera.

Legends of Tomorrow isn’t a bad show but, with the Challengers being able to venture off to more interesting places because of its budget, the Arrowverse series will no longer have the pressure to act as a flagship sci-fi series.
