10 DC Heroes Who Need Their Own Animated Series
6. Shazam
Shazam as a character is a concept that, once you hear it, you wonder why it's taken this long for a proper movie to be made about him, let alone a TV show. There was only one show made about the World's Mightiest Mortal, back in the '70s, and it was the kind of dull that makes you forget you ever saw it the moment it leaves your immediate attention.
But that doesn't mean that DC has completely been ignoring him, as Shazam has appeared at least once in almost every DC animated show. He was a central character in one of Justice League Unlimited's best episodes, he was a major supporting character in Young Justice, and he appeared multiple times in Batman: The Brave And The Bold.
The DC animated crew clearly loves Billy Batson as much as everyone else does, so why hasn't he gotten his own animated series yet? There are more than likely a myriad of reasons for this, but considering that, in his heyday, this guy was outselling Superman by a country mile, the logic behind those reasons are suspect at best.
