10 DC Heroes Who Need Their Own Animated Series

5. Aquaman

Like with Shazam, the success of the Aquaman movie has given all the reason in the world to make an animated series to capitalize on the success. Of all the central DC superheroes, Aquaman is probably tied with Green Lantern for having the most creative and unique setting, world, and supporting cast of all of them.

Atlantis and the surrounding ocean itself is equal parts wondrous and dangerous. And because of this, it can suit whatever setting a writing team wants it to. It can be a Utopian society beneath the waves, occasionally set upon by hostile outsiders, or it can be game of thrones by way of the little mermaid, where conspiracies, alliances, and betrayals abound.

And whether you prefer the older, campy swashbuckler, or the badass king of the sea, Aquaman can suit many different tones as well. So an Aquaman animated series could work on DC universe, with its lessened content regulations, or it can be an action cartoon for kids on Cartoon Network.

The possibilities abound for making Aquaman into a TV show. Hopefully, someone feels like exploring those possibilities sometime soon.
