10 DC Heroes Who Need Their Own Animated Series

2. Blue Beetle

Jaime Reyes is one of DC's most popular characters, and his appearances in Young Justice and Batman: The Brave And The Bold have only cemented this. Fans across the board love Jaime to pieces, so why not give him his own show?

It wouldn't even be that hard since his original run under John Rogers and Keith Giffen is essentially an animated series waiting to be animated. It has all the wit and charm of the best DCAU fare, while also being kid-friendly enough to be adapted without much issue (something the rest of the DC universe in the mid-2000s couldn't quite attest to)

While Jaime's rogues gallery isn't quite as strong as Batman or Superman's, his villains are developed enough, and unique enough, that a talented team of writers would easily be able to craft a set of strong antagonists out of them. And on top of that, the presence of previous Blue Beetle generations opens up avenues for interesting stories and character development for Jaime.

The comic does this as well, but a TV show could expand on this concept of Jaime being the third guy to own the moniker in plenty of interesting and just downright fun ways.
