8. The Brain - Doom Patrol

Okay, so, picture this: you have a Dalek, and you lop all its grabby bits off; then you place a skull on the front, an audio device to talk through and a see-through dome with a brain inside - that's The Brain.
Accompanied by his loyal French gorilla companion, Monsieur Mallah, The Brain fights against the Doom Patrol and occasionally other DC heroes too. The main thing to know, however, is that he has a French accent, is super smart and, with the help of his ape companion, has gotten up to some serious mischief in the DC Universe.
Needless to say, if you're not excited by the prospect of a robot Brendan Fraser fending off a really tall roombah with a French gorilla sidekick, then it's fair to say you don't deserve Doom Patrol in the first place.

In his current role, Ewan incorporates his love of cinema, comic books, and history into written pieces and video essays for WhatCulture's Film & TV channel, as well as WhatCulture Gaming and WhatCulture Horror, with a particular focus on nineties-era Dad Movies, old school Westerns, and Golden Age Hollywood Noir.
