10 Depressing Truths Bojack Horseman Will Teach You
4. Friendship's Evolve, And May Disappear
When you have a close friendship, it can feel like it will last forever. You never really want to see a strong relationship go, and at times it can be incredibly difficult to accept when it does. But Bojack tries to teach you that friendships are always going to evolve and change and that it's okay.
The friendship that Bojack had with Todd was incredibly manipulative and hurtful for the wacky-loveable-rogue. It isn't surprising that the dynamic between the two is so different at the end of the show as compared to the beginning. In the end, the connection that they had doesn't exist anymore. This is something the creators expect you to feel sad about, but at the same time, they make it clear that this isn't an entirely unforeseeable outcome.
Friendships do change, sometimes life pulls people in different directions, and even if you want to keep it going, circumstances may not allow it.
The simple truth is that no relationship you have will remain the same forever. Often it won't even exist years down the line. But, despite how sad this sounds, it is okay to accept it and move on.
