2. Dalek Universe 1 - Opening Cliffhanger
This is the most recent release to make this list, taken from the opening story, Buying Time, in the new Tenth Doctor series: Dalek Universe 1. The cliffhanger was so huge it had twitter talking only an hour after the series release as people got to it. This moment really is quite a big one, and so if you intend to listen to Dalek Universe I would save this for yourself.

Jumping straight in, the closing moments of the series' first story, the Tenth Doctor is shot and begins to regenerate in front of Anya Kingdom and Mark Seven. However, the body which takes his place is not the Eleventh Doctor, rather that of an unknown woman. Enter Gemma Whelan as the Doctor?! That's how the first episode of this series ends and if you were not gripped before, you certainly are now.
However, this is not a permanent change, as it is revealed that the Game of Thrones actress is actually a female incarnation of the classic villain the Monk, now calling herself the Nun. In order to reclaim a component of her TARDIS from the story's antagonist, George Sheldrake, the Nun thought this deception would be the best way to gain the trust of Space Security Service agents Anya and Mark Seven as they were already investigating Sheldrake.
Whilst the moment of thinking Whelan is the Doctor is short-lived it is certainly a shocker to think this story had the guts to create a new incarnation of the Doctor and for that cliffhanger, you fully believe it. But even as the Nun, Whelan is superb, with a stand-out moment where the Doctor learns he is in a pre-Time War universe. At the minute, Dalek Universe is certainly the series to watch (or listen rather).
