10 Doctor Who Fans Who Made A Lasting Impact On The Show
5. Paul Condon
Paul Condon was a Doctor Who fan, convention organiser, DJ, author, BBC producer, and also curated online content for various series including Who. By all accounts, he was a wonderful friend and colleague, who very sadly and suddenly passed away in 2019. So many tributes to Paul appeared on Doctor Who news sites, fan message boards, and on Doctor Who Twitter.
Another tribute to Paul was discovered a year later on Doctor Who itself. When the cast list for the upcoming episode Fugitive of the Judoon was announced, it revealed that the lead Judoon's name was Pol Kon Don. This was a tribute by showrunner and the episode's co-writer Chris Chibnall, who had been friends with Paul when they were young men at Merseyside's local Doctor Who group.
Chibnall further paid tribute to his friend in the pages of Doctor Who Magazine, stating: "He was a shining example of the best in Doctor Who fans: he loved the show with passion, kindness, empathy and celebratory humour ... We should all Be More Paul"
