10 Doctor Who Fans Who Made A Lasting Impact On The Show
4. Nicholas Briggs
Is there a Doctor Who fan as involved in as many different mediums as Nicholas Briggs? Besides fulfilling a lifelong dream and voicing the Daleks in the series itself, he's written a staggering amount of Doctor Who scripts for expanded universe productions. In fact, through his work with Big Finish alone, he's likely written more Doctor Who than any of the script editors or showrunners from the show's long history.
Not content with that particular accolade, Briggs also played the Doctor in a series of fan-made audios. These audios were popular enough that his interpretation of the character appeared in several Doctor Who Magazine comic strips. He and colleague Keith Barnfather are also to thank for the vast archive of anecdotes and reminiscences from Doctor Who, via Myth Makers. This is a continuing series of feature-length video interviews that has been running since 1984.
When Myth Makers is good, it's very good, when it's bad it's just Steven Taylor actor Peter Purves telling you about the curtains he recently bought from Laura Ashley. Briggs hasn't just had an indelible impact on Doctor Who, he also essentially invented podcasting.
