10 Doctor Who Moments The Actors Hated
3. Billie Piper Vs. Rose's Exit
Every companion's time on Doctor Who comes to an end, and if they're lucky, they'll get a big emotional farewell that leaves fans reaching for the tissues.
One of the goodbyes that undoubtedly send Kleenex stock skyrocketing was that of Rose Tyler. The cherished companion and revival-era standard-setter bowed out at the end of Series 2, trapped in a parallel universe and doomed to be apart from the Doctor forever.
Billie Piper, as far as we're aware, has no issue with this moment. What she isn't a fan of, however, is Rose's second goodbye.
At the end of the Series 4 finale, the Tenth Doctor returns Rose to her own dimension after a brief reunion and a skirmish with the Daleks. She ends up taking the Metacrisis Doctor with her, hopeful that she can reform him in the same way she gave the Ninth Doctor hope after the Time War.
It was a nice idea and to many, was executed well, but not according to Piper, who admitted that she "hated" this part of Rose's story. She saw this "sloppy seconds" Doctor (her words) as a poor imitation of the real thing, and felt that Rose deserved the genuine article.
Let's hope that the Metacrisis Doctor doesn't catch wind of these comments. We've already seen he's got a bit of an angry streak in him!
