Friends' seventh season finale - The One With Monica And Chandler's Wedding - is not only the season's most-viewed at 30.1 million viewers, but it's one of the series' most moving, as was the case with the lion's share of Friends' wedding-centric episodes.

Monica and Chandler's vows are distinctly emotional, during which Monica utters the mushy, yet dewy-eyed line, "My prince, my soulmate, my friend". It was an affectionate, dreamy, and tender performance from Monica during what was an affectionate, dreamy, and tender two-parter.

Shame she didn't mean it.

Not in its fullest sense, anyway. Mere episodes later, in season eight's The One Where Joey Tells Rachel, she divulges to Chandler that she doesn't believe in the notion of soulmates after her satirical husband makes the same daring remarks. Instead, Monica claims that she and Chandler weren't predestined to be together, but rather fell in love spontaneously.

This is another delicate performance from Monica as part of the show's most pragmatic relationship. However, if she didn't believe in the concept of soulmates, why did she include the word in her self-written wedding vows? It insinuates that she's going along with the idea due to thinking Chandler does believe in them, which is hardly the best start to a marriage.
