10 Great Shows To Watch On Britbox UK

3. Fawlty Towers

Decades before he appeared in Specsavers adverts and inadvisedly created a Twitter account to alienate as many people as he can, former Python John Cleese teamed up with his then-wife Connie Booth to make Fawlty Towers, one of the most acclaimed British sitcoms of all time. It's won three BAFTAs and been named the best sitcom of all time by the BFI.

Yet it isn't really shown on television all that much anymore, despite the fact there are cable channels dedicated to repeats of comedy classics. In terms of UKTV, Fawlty Towers is undeniably Gold standard.

Thankfully, Britbox is here to help us check in to the most ineptly run hotel in all of Torquay. All twelve episodes are available to stream, including the infamous episode "The Germans", in which a concussed Basil Fawlty offends an entire nation of viewers to the amusement of everybody else. The hearty laughs Fawlty Towers triggers may be just what you need to banish those isolation blues; but whatever you do, don't mention the war.

I'm perfectly sane, or so the voices tell me. British, sarcastic, president of the European Slinky Association, have a tendency to lie when listing things about myself. 100% guilty of being a massive geek obsessed with Doctor Who, Harry Potter and video games. If you can't find me on the internet, I'm probably locked in a room playing Spyro the Dragon on my old PlayStation, or blowing everything to smithereens with a concrete donkey on Worms: Armageddon.
