5. Ren And Stimpy
Unlike other shows on this list, if you took one look at Ren and Stimpy and formed an opinion about what it was without seeing an episode of the show, you wouldn't actually be that far off.
Ren and Stimpy is madness given form and substance. A chaotic, insane romp with as little meaning as a piece of art can conceivably have while still being made by human hands. It's about two strange animals named, of course, Ren and Stimpy...and that's about it. Every episode is so different from the last that there's basically no overarching narrative or even a single theme to tie it all together.
What saved Ren and Stimpy was the simple fact of it being HILARIOUS. The show made no sense, but it was the kind of madness that you wanted to revisit due to it being legitimately funny, with jokes like the history eraser button gag being particular stand outs.
The only real downside is that enjoying it means you have to give money to its creator, John K, who is just, the worst.
