A list like this would never be complete without Dragon Ball. Goku’s epic heavyweight clash with Jiren served as the climax to Dragon Ball Super, and was without a doubt one of the best fights of the entire franchise.

Dragon Ball is famous for ridiculously high stakes, and that was certainly true here. Competing in a deadly tournament, designed to serve as the survival test for all existing universes, Goku and co. had to win in order for their universe to avoid destruction. The spectacular battle royal saw plenty of famous encounters and heroic moments, but the best was saved for last.

With all other universes wiped from existence, universe 11 and universe 7 are the last ones standing. Technically it was a 3 v 1, but with Frieza and Android 17 out of commission, it was left to none other than Goku to engage in the deciding fight.

The fight itself was unreal. Relentless physical action, spectacular energy blast exchanges, transformations, this had it all. In the end, after a back and forth of titanic proportions, Goku, with the help of a late assist from Frieza, is able to overcome the seemingly invincible Jiren. And even then he had to sacrifice himself to do so, leaving 17 as the sole survivor.
