Who's In It? Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Martin Sheen and Sam Waterston What's It About? Finding out that their husbands are not just work partners, but have also been romantically involved for the last 20 years, two women with an already strained relationship try to cope with the circumstances together. Why Should I Watch? Grace And Frankie has a beautifully analogue feel in both style and tone, most likely due to being the brainchild of Friends co-creator Marta Kauffman. It also shuns gender stereotypes and our perceptions of ageing by unfolding a neatly layered story that all can relate to. Big-hearted and rendered with a melancholy silliness, Netflix's comedy series is also starkly confrontational and takes a direct approach when addressing life, love and the complexities of both. Fonda is entirely in her element here, as is Tomlin, and watching the usually astute Sheen and Waterson embrace more freeing performance strands is delightful. With support from Brooklyn Decker, June Diane Raphael, Ethan Embry and Baron Vaughn, it offers one of TV's most diverse casts, which is apt considering the subject matter and storylines.
