6. What Happened In The Alternate New York?
From the footage already shown, it is clear that Loki will be working as part of the TVA for at least a portion of the series. This will seemingly send him across many different worlds, universes, and timelines, one of which appears to be a desolate New York City.
As Loki lands in this universe, the backdrop shows what used to be the New York City skyline, which is now littered with debris and can boast only one or two buildings still standing tall. One of the broken buildings appears to be the Avengers Tower, but what actually happened here?
The most obvious answer would be that this is a world in which Loki defeated the Avengers with the Chitauri, and this is what the city was reduced to under his rule. The TVA interrogate Loki and show him scenes of his battle with Earth's Mightiest Heroes, so this could easily be a part of this same interaction.
However, could this be something bigger, like the ultimate result of Thanos' snap? Or even something much smaller? There are literally countless timelines Loki could be sent to, with even the slightest variation in events leading to huge differences in each one, so what happened here is at this stage anyone's guess.
