The first story from the third series of the revived show, featuring the 10th Doctor, Smith And Jones also features the debut of Martha Jones as the Doctors companion. Martha got a raw deal, coming straight after Rose Tyler, but shes an underrated supporting character in the third season. The story here is far more concerned with giving us touchstone moments between the Doctor and Martha than with making any sense, which would ordinarily give us a weaker episode of the show. However, in having an Earth hospital transported to the Moon in order for a mercenary police force that look like rhinos dressed as stormtroopers to trap and execute a vampire criminal hiding amongst the patients, then showrunner Russell T. Davies manages to not only provide a novel and entertaining beginning to the third season of his rejuvenated show, but also allow us to write this sentence, which has been a whole lot of fun. Seriously. Space rhinos kidnap a hospital to the Moon to search for a vampire. If thats not some form of genius, we might have to think about expanding the definition of the word its like a Douglas Adams story.
