8. Taking Morty To Blips & Chitz
Sometimes the simple acts of kindness really are the best.
Blips and Chitz is an interstellar arcade, and if Rick were truly as selfish as he often shows himself to be, he’d merely keep it all to himself. However, he decides instead to share it with Morty, taking his grandson for some good old-fashioned fun.
On more than one occasion, Rick’s adventures have landed Morty in mortal danger, so it makes a change to do something more relaxed and enjoyable. A game of Roy: A Life Well Lived probably suits Morty more than purging, even if he does end up going back to the carpet store after surviving cancer.
It’s not entirely selfless, as Rick loves the arcade too. Still, he’s including Morty in his fun, which is an above average gesture from Rick.
It’s similar to when he takes Jerry to the intergalactic resort where death is impossible to stop Jerry from killing himself. However, that moment just misses out here as it ends up landing Jerry in more danger, he’s generally a jerk to him (possibly justified in this instance) and him being there inadvertently causes the death of a young child.
Not exactly a dream vacation.
