10 Kindest Things Rick From Rick & Morty Has Done

Another one with a slight caveat here, as Rick is absolutely hammered when this happens. However, it’s still a pretty nice bonding moment and shows Rick at least has a modicum of respect for Morty.

Rick & Morty’s time with the Vindicators shows that Morty is used to dealing with drunk Rick, and this nice act goes some way to cancelling out that debacle. While putting on a Saw style ordeal for the Vindicators, Rick has a long, drunken speech about how there’s only one person he has any time for... but it turns out to be the janitor Noob-Noob rather than Morty.

Here though, Rick is clearly focused on his grandson (as focused as he can be after that much liquor), teaching him how to drive the spaceship. As the opening to Mortynight Run, it’s one of the sweeter first scenes, and Morty is clearly enjoying the responsibility.

There’s an argument that Rick’s being selfish, putting his grandson in a dangerous position, but having seen how nasty he can be at times, this kind and cuddly Rick is a good change of pace, even if he’s drunk while doing it.
