10 Late Night TV Shows From Back In The Day

5. The Hit Man And Her

Produced by Granada and running from 1988-1992, The Hit Man and her was essential post pub viewing for thousands of viewers all over the land. Presented by 80s Cheese master music producer - Pete Waterman along with Michaela Strachan, the show featured a different night club each week and basically consisted of young people dancing to the latest pop and dance tunes. It was commonly broadcasted around the ITV regions at 2am. The clubbers always arrived at the venue with the intention of getting on TV - cue some pretty wild dancing. If they were lucky, they got picked from the audience to take part in some silly games. Extremely dated now because of the fashion and music, The Hit Man and Her is nevertheless quite charming viewing if you are feeling nostalgic and want to watch pastel lad idiots dance around to S-Express..

My first film watched was Carrie aged 2 on my dad's knee. Educated at The University of St Andrews and Trinity College Dublin. Fan of Arthouse, Exploitation, Horror, Euro Trash, Giallo, New French Extremism. Weaned at the bosom of a Russ Meyer starlet. The bleaker, artier or sleazier the better!
