10 Moments From The Grand Tour We All Loved
6. Hammond's Motorbike
Any fan of The Grand Tour will know the dividing opinion between the three presenters is their love and hate for motorcycles. James May and Richard Hammond are known for their keen love of bikes, with Hammond often favouring the two-wheeled vehicle to the car.
In the episode "Feed The World", the presenters are forced to work together to transport fish to poverty-stricken villages in Mozambique. The starting point is Mozambique's capital, Maputo, at the very southern end of the country. Jeremy and James both side with the idea of transporting fish via car with James adapting his 1984 Mercedes wagon to hold a giant fish tank in the back. Clarkson, also favouring the four-wheeled way of travel, turns his pick-up truck into an ice tray to keep his fish fresh. Hammond, however, had a different approach.
The motorcycle fan left his mates behind with his choice of a TVS Star HLX 125 bike. On the roads of Mozambique, the bike worked pretty well but the same can't be said when it came to the wet and muddy trails which turned out to be the main surface on their adventure. The bike struggled to keep any grip, resulting in "The Hamster" falling off more than thirty times.
