Often regarded as one of the best episodes of the long running show, "Hush" features The Gentlemen. A group of demons who travel from town to town in search of seven hearts to feed on.

These demons are bald, pale and forever grinning with horrible metallic teeth. To add to their horror the Gentlemen were completely silent and floated rather than walking. Despite being silent they are incredibly polite to one and other, gesturing to each other and passing the scalpel they carry during the removal of one victim's heart. Whilst persuing their victims they never speed up or break into a run, instead they continue to float ominously along.

The tension is heightened by the inability of the heroes to communicate with each other. On their arrival in town, the demons stole everyone's voice boxes as their only weakness is a human scream, this gives the episode an eerie quiet.

A new meaning to the phrase 'silent but deadly'.
