10 Most Chilling Doctor Who Moments

3. "Don't Cremate Me" (Dark Water)

Yes, it's a lie by Missy to convince everyone on Earth to sign up to the 3W Institute so she can convert them into Cybermen. But regardless, Dark Water's assertion that the dead can feel everything that happens to them is one of the most shocking moments in Doctor Who history.

Those three simple words "Don't Cremate Me" are the exact opposite of cremation, because they're enough to make your body freeze, and send goosebumps crawling along your skin.

Not only is the idea chilling to think about when it comes to your own death, but it's even more awful when you think about deceased family members. Despite the Doctor asserting it's a load of nonsense, it was a haunting thought to play on your mind for the seven days until the storyline was fully resolved in Death in Heaven.

It's no surprise that Dark Water quickly became one of the most complained-about Doctor Who episodes of all time. Poor little Timmy hearing the three words while munching down on his fish fingers and beans in front of the 'family sci-fi show' Doctor Who would've scarred the kid for life!
