10 Most Disappointing Series Finales Of All Time

3. Sex And The City

Sex And The City
HBO

A show which captivated female viewers with its strong, independent, and successful female characters ended in a way which contradicted the entire point of the show.

The six seasons followed Carrie Bradshaw and her friends living it up in New York City. They wore stunning clothes, hung out in cool spots drinking Cosmos, and were usually fine being alone, but dating and having fun. Female empowerment to the max.

Then the finale seen Carrie get back with her on-and-off boyfriend Mr Big, giving the show a love-story happy ending it was never meant to have. Sure, the whole finding-the-right-man ending is a good for many shows, but was it what fans of a show like Sex And The City wanted? I think they wanted Carrie to find happiness on her own, but what do I know.

I like to think of myself as a world traveler and social butterfly, although I do spend a lot of my time watching the latest Japanese anime series, sitcoms, movies, and drama series. I live on the island of Crete, where I was born, and enjoy walking on the beach with my little cocker spaniel, Molly, when I'm not writing for WhatCulture.com and UNILAD.co.uk.
