10 Most Hotly Anticipated Horror TV Shows Debuting Or Returning In 2022

5. Kingdom

With two seasons and a special feature-length episode - Ashin of the North - under its belt, the South Korean show Kingdom is set to make a comeback sometime in 2022. Streaming on Netflix, this is a great opportunity for anyone who enjoys supernatural-themed shows or is interested in what the Korean market has to offer after Squid Game, to find a new show to really stick their teeth into.

Kingdom is the first original Korean series produced by the streaming giant and probably won't be the last. The show's cast is a who's who of Korean acting superstars, but there is someone who western audiences might recognize. Bae Doona has appeared in Jupiter Ascending, along with the Netflix series Sense8 (2015-2018) and The Silent Sea (2021).

Set during the Joseon Dynasty, Kingdom is a period drama that quickly devolves into a show that explores humankind through the themes of horror, the supernatural, and disease. The Joseon Dynasty ruled Korea between 1392 and 1897, and this show takes place three years after the end of the Imjin War - placing us around 1601 when the show starts.
