10 Most Infuriating TV Series Finales

5. Roseanne

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVa1bOHGo70 Roseanne was a classic show that, like so many others, just couldn't quite get the landing right. The last season was a total mess when given its proper context in the final episode, which made it clear what we all thought; the writers didn't have a freaking clue what they were doing. We find out at the end of the finale that essentially the entire last season had not happened, but rather it was a story concocted by Roseanne while sitting at her typewriter. This means that, yes, Dan died of his heart attack, and though at this point it all makes sense even if it does feel a little cheap, it gets a whole lot weirder. Then we learn that Roseanne has fabricated other elements; her mother and her sister are lesbians, and Darlene is paired with Mark, while Becky is with David, an inversion of the loveable couples we've gotten to know throughout the series. Way to destroy viewer investment completely, guys, and though rumour persists that this was a backlash to the creators' bitterness at being cancelled, the writers should be more mature than to make the fans pay for it.
