Finally, in the top spot there is the one and only 'Prince of All Saiyans', Vegeta. The Vegeta of today is a far cry from the character's introduction back in the Saiyan Saga in Dragon Ball Z. During the time, the character was seen as a prideful and condescending warrior who only ever cared about himself. Ever since his defeat at the hands of the Z Fighters, the character has undergone one of the most radical transformations of all time.

Vegeta is fuelled by his desire to become the strongest warrior in the universe and this desire was sometimes a hindrance for the rest, particularly allowing Cell to achieve his Perfect Form in order to be able to fight him at full power.

Vegeta's redemption story is seen as reaching the pinnacle during the Buu Saga, after he decides to revert back to his evil nature by allowing Babidi to possess him in order to surpass Goku and finally become the strongest fighter in the universe. Upon realisation of what he has done, Vegeta decides the only way to atone for his mistake is to sacrifice himself for his family, a noble act which finally redeems Vegeta in the eyes of the viewer.
