10 Most Pointless American Horror Story Characters

4. Elizabeth Short/The Black Dahlia (Murder House)

American Horror Story
FX

Providing a backstory for the famous unsolved crime, we are shown that Elizabeth Short had an overdose of oxygen after a sexual assault from a questionable dentist. To attempt to hide his crime, he took her to the Murder House.

Once she was at the Murder House she did not get help, but instead received treatment by resident psyco physician Dr. Montgomery. It was he who would give her the infamous Glasgow Smile, and other features that would make the case of the Black Dahlia known worldwide.

Elizabeth as a character is sympathetic, likeable, and entirely pointless. Besides establishing American Horror Story’s now long running tradition of incorporating real world figures into their mythology, The Black Dahlia doesn’t do much more than give more ammunition in the case of why Charles Montgomery is insane.
