Before the people of Earth found the Ori, they had a decent familiarity with energy-beam weaponry. The Goa'uld and Asgardians both used them on their spacecraft, but they pale in comparison to the Ori energy beam weapon found on an Ori warship.

The central beam weapon on an Ori warship is far more powerful, and throughout Stargate: SG1, they are seen destroying other vessels with ease. A single shot will take out a Goa'uld Ha'tak-class warship, rendering its shield completely useless. Essentially, Goa'uld technology was entirely innocuous when put up against the technology of the Ori.

Fortunately, Asgardian shields were somewhat effective, and they could take multiple hits from an Ori Energy Beam weapon. As the hits accumulated, the shields would be depleted, so any protection they provided was limited and rendered inert after just a few minutes of engagement with an Ori warship.

Eventually, the Asgard developed a Plasma Beam weapon capable of matching the energy output of the Ori Energy Beam. Still, the technology of the Ori was superior, and defeating them required other means than direct engagement, which almost always resulted in the total destruction of Milky Way technology.
