8. Laurel Lance (Arrow)
Let’s face it, Laurel Lance was never the most popular character in the Arrowverse. Starting off as Oliver’s annoying love interest, she slowly evolved into an alcoholic and finally into the heroic Black Canary.
With fans speculating about who would die following the graveside reveal in the first episode of the season, all kinds of names were thrown around. As the season went on and possible victims were slowly eliminated, fans were suddenly stunned as Damien Darhk’s victim was revealed in the middle of a battle.
Taking one of Oliver’s own arrows, Darhk stabs the Black Canary and leaves Team Arrow and their viewers speechless. With Oliver eventually marrying Dinah “Laurel” Lance in the comics, most people assumed that she would be around much longer. When she suddenly died at the hands of the main villain of the season, fans were left speechless as they wondered how Oliver and Quentin Lance would take the tragic loss of their comrade and daughter.
