10 Most Sought After Doctor Who Missing Episodes

Since the aforementioned near-complete recovery of The Web Of Fear in 2013, the prequel to that story - featuring the first appearance of the Yeti and The Great Intelligence - has once again become a hot topic in the world of Doctor Who.

First broadcast in late-1967, The Abominable Snowmen takes place in 1930s Tibet with the Yeti attempting to take over a mountain monastery. Luckily, the Doctor, Jamie and Victoria, along with the help of Professor Travers, are on hand to save the day and restore peace to the mountain. The serial also features some gorgeous location filming, with the mountains of North Wales doubling as Tibet.

Episode 2 of The Abominable Snowmen does still exist and was included on the 2004 Doctor Who: Lost In Time DVD set, accompanied by some behind-the-scenes filming showing off the Yeti costumes against the mountainous backdrop.

With an official animation of the story released in September of this year, fans have finally been able to add the sister serial of The Web Of Fear to their Doctor Who collections.
