10 Most Underrated Sci-Fi/Fantasy Shows
3. DC's Legends Of Tomorrow
Despite its ground-breaking debut, the Arrowverse has been one of the frustrating franchises to follow for long-time fans. However, no matter how divisive the other shows get, the one constant that could always be relied upon to deliver 40 odd minutes of joy on every episode, is the Legends of Tomorrow.
In season 1, it was more of a serious show as Captain Rip Hunter, member of a higher organization responsible for maintaining the timeline, embarks on a mission to alter history and prevent Vandal Savage from taking over the world. He goes against his superiors, the Time Masters, and recruits ragtag team of second grade superheroes.
And thus the Legends were born. Their journey across time, fighting bad guys at various stages of history was a breath of fresh air for the superhero genre. Quirky, funny and just serious enough to keep you on the edge of your seat.
In subsequent seasons, Sarah Lance, A.K.A the White Canary takes over from Rip as Captain of the Waverider and the show drops all pretence of seriousness, descending into a completely wacky rollercoaster ride that was as fun as it was brave.
In a world where superhero shows and movies are the commercial gold standard for the entertainment industry, this show deserves more mention that it perhaps gets.
