10 Most Underrated Sci-Fi Horror TV Shows Of All Time

8. Oats Studios

Oats Studios

If there's one name in the world of sci-fi that should get your hype train rolling, it's Neill Blomkamp. This director (known for flicks like District 9 and Chappie) has been working hard to give sci-fi a good name since day one. His focus on VFX gives all his projects a cinematic tone, which helps make this bizarre series so fascinating.

Oats Studios is a collection of experimental short films based around the idea of horror, post-apocalypses and sci-fi. The stories in it range from reptilian invasions of Earth to experiments in neural weaponry to God himself playing with humanity. Think Love Death & Robots, but far weirder.

This collection of unconnected shorts is a full dive into the depths of Blomkamp's mind. The series legitimately feels like an unhinged exploration of sci-fi and horror in its purest form. Plenty of it is nonsensical and ludicrous, but the combining feature is that it's all unique and visually delightful - if rather macabre.

Not every short will impress you, but the beauty of its episodic format is that you can move on to the next one right away and keep searching for something you love. With its position on Netflix and the star director, it's a surprise this one is so unheard of.
