10 Most Underrated South Park Characters
9. Shelley Marsh
The Marsh family are arguably the most essential unit in the series outside of the leading boys' friendship group. The dynamic between this domestic household is incredibly wild and often leads to some of the most interesting narratives for the show.
Each of them has a strong position, as Stan is the leading boy, Randy is an absolute mess and Sharon is the voice of reason character. However, while Shelley has a strong personality as the aggressive and grumpy older sister to Stan, she does not get the screen-time or narrative potential that she is worthy of receiving.
As a tremendous antagonistic force for Stan, she really could be utilised more and be as a bigger part of the Marsh family. It is often easy to forget about her presence, as the importance of the other characters overshadows her. But her position as a young pubescent girl has a lot of potential that hasn't been explored as much as it could be.
In a sea of over the top characters, Shelley still stands out, and for that she deserves a little more attention.
